Dr. Rehman Abdulrehman

Dr. Rehman Abdulrehman is an Alliance Partner with Leadership Development Worldwide, LLC, supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives. Operating out of Manitoba, Canada, Dr. Abdulrehman founded and runs the Public Mental Health Initiative, along with his team at Clinic Psychology Manitoba.

Rehman has well over 15 years of cross-cultural competence having worked with both individuals and organizations in consultation and training roles with a special focus on diversity and inclusion. His experience in the innovative application of psychology has helped to highlight unconscious bias and create effective and practical change in a variety of sectors including health, business, education, and government sectors.

Rehman uses his skills as a clinician and researcher, and his perspective as a person of color and an immigrant, to coach and guide those in leadership to gain insight and make effective change to become inclusive to team members of varied backgrounds. His engaging style and use of storytelling help make the science of topics such as microaggressions, privilege, and representation, understandable and relatable to human experience. His practical advice is actionable and creates real change from the inside out. He works internationally, primarily in North America, Africa and the Middle East, bridging his familiarity with all those cultures.

Rehman has held numerous leadership roles within professional psychological associations, which include serving as the President of the Manitoba Psychological Society and the Chair of the Committee on International Relations for Psychology with the American Psychological Association.

Rehman is an assistant professor at the University of Manitoba, a visiting professor at the State University of Zanzibar and Zanzibar University, and was a TEDx speaker on the topic of “Resolving Unconscious Bias.” He is also a lover of cakes, bakeries, and strangely enough, chin ups.
