Kiban Turner, Ph.D.

Dr. Kiban Turner is an Alliance Partner with Leadership Development Worldwide, LLC, operating out of Washington, DC. She specializes in executive coaching and leadership development training, working with both individuals and leadership teams to optimize their performance and functioning. Kiban combines expertise in behavioral change with business knowledge to help people develop as effective leaders and create positive, high-performance workplaces.

As a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and licensed psychologist, Kiban has coached executives and managers from a wide variety of organizations to help them improve their performance and develop into more effective, inspiring leaders. Over the past two decades, she has worked with a range of executives, including CEOs, other C-Suite executives, and mid-level executives, as well as with senior leadership teams to help them resolve conflicts and be more effective. She enjoys partnering with leaders and teams who are struggling with the pressures of high growth or other transformation efforts, as well as those dealing with complicated team dynamics.

Kiban has worked across a wide breadth of industries in both the private and public sectors, including Financial Services, Technology, Design, Legal, Healthcare, Consulting, and Federal agencies. She has worked with many Fortune 500 companies, as well as with start-ups in the technology space.

Kiban is passionate about helping clients become inspiring, effective leaders by using a direct and outcome-focused approach. An insightful listener who is both supportive and candid, Kiban is an impactful coach, helping her clients gain new insights about themselves, their challenges, and the environments in which they lead. She collaborates with them to identify areas of developmental focus, work through their challenges, and take the risks needed to transform their goals into actions.

Kiban earned a B.A. in Economics from the College of William and Mary, an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Duke University.  She is a licensed psychologist, a member of the American Psychological Association and the Society of Consulting Psychology. In her free time, she enjoys travelling with her family, swimming, and gardening with native plants.
